Relative geographical stability
I have a room in Xela. For a month. That will be the longest I've been in one place for 6 months.

There's a new bed, without the fleas or bedbugs so common in Guatemala. There's fast internet, so I can work on Appropedia stuff... and when I start to grow faint and have to leave the computer, there's markets nearby with fresh food, and a share kitchen. It's all I need.

Sweet. I think you've been to Guatemala before, right? My favorite part of our trip there was the market in the town diagonally across L. Atitlan from Panajachel. It retains a lot local character, unlike the thoroughly touristy market in Chichi.

No, first time in Latin America. And I'm here to work, so not doing touristy stuff for now - tho I hear Lake Atitlan is beautiful.
